An example which has undergone restoration. Brass skull decorated with brass laurel leaves; to the front a helmet plate of nickel backing star with brass strap and nickel “1” to the centre. Brass spike supports a scarlet regimental pattern horsehair plume with rose boss. To each side are rose head bosses which support a brass leather-backed chin chain. Leather lining to the interior a little dry. The helmet is a good display item, but is now fitted with a RHG plume and the skull and brass work appears to have been lacquered. A good quality example with double edged blade, chisel double blood groove and with heavy armour piercing point. Hilt of typical steel form with extended wrist guard and double rod cross grip.
