Saleday

Auctions have moved with the times, especially in the case of Marlows, so on Saleday there are various ways you can bid in a way which is convenient to you.

Saleroom (only Internet sales at present)
In more normal times, you can attend the auction in person at our Ravon Court Saleroom with viewing starting at 8am and continuing throughout the sale for your convenience, this view, buy and clear policy, enables you to view items while the sale is in progress, bid for them and clear in the least possible time. The sales begin at 10am and the Auctioneer will run continuously, usually with a selling rate of about 60 lots an hour, so you will be able to calculate the time your interested lot will be sold, but remember to be ready earlier rather than later. Many bidders stay for the whole sale, a complimentary Tea and Coffee service and chats with other collectors attending the sale can make it a most enjoyable day. Ample free parking is available at our Ravon Court Saleroom

Bid Live Through our Internet Live Bidding Platforms

This is certainly the 21st Century advance in auctioneering, as Marlows aucions are on Bosleys Live (extra 2%), EasyLive (extra 3%) and Saleroom (extra 4.9%) platforms to enable you to bid live at your home or workplace from any part of the world. After logging into our live bidding platform, you will see photographs of each item and hear the auctioneer as the sale is being conducted you will be able to bid live as though in the room itself and this gives the advantage of being enable to “go just one more”, if needs be, to secure your item.

Telephone Bidding

For buyers who do not have access to the internet, Marlows offers a telephone bidding service. In this case a representative of Marlows will call you and take your bidding instructions live as your lot is sold. This service is available for lots over the value of £200 and bidders are expected to bid from the lower estimate and above.

Absentee Bidding

For your convenience Marlows has a bidding facility through their internet online catalogue, we can accept bids on official Bidding forms found in the illustrated catalogue, or bids can be left by a telephone call from registered clients.

Collections

Items can be collected from the Ravon Court Saleroom, by appointment. It is important that if you intend to collect your items, you contact the salesroom by the following Monday after saleday before 12 o’clock as all items are removed to the Windsor shippers on Tuesday. All accounts must be settled by Bank Transfer prior to collection. We do no longer take payment by any other means.

Postal / Shipping Service

Marlows can arrange a shipping service through our independent agent we have used for the past 20 years. For your convenience all items are collected on the Tuesday following a sale and automatically packed ready for despatch. We have found this to be the most cost effective and quickest way for you to acquire your goods.
