Selling at Auction

Selling At Auction.

Marlows Military Auctioneers remains the only specialist military auction house in Central and Northern Britain, dedicated to the sale of original Military antiques and collectables. This is important as this particular collecting field of the Antiques world remains one of the most buoyant and therefore it is important that your item receives the best publicity and marketing prior to your auction. Marlows extensive client database allows us to contact directly collectors insuring that they are aware of upcoming items.

Consignment.

Nothing could be more easy. A telephone call or email with put you in direct contact with an expert who can advise you on your items. Consignments can be dropped off personally at our Ravon Court saleroom. Or for extensive collections we can arrange a personal visit to your home and collect the items. Smaller items can be posted or for those slightly bulky items we can offer a courier collection service.

Cataloging.

Because of Marlows expertise we are able to examine each of your items and wittle out the rare desirable obscure objects offering them as individual lots, so as to be able to target specific collectors. We catalogue your items with not only the knowledge of the item, but with the knowledge of the best way to achieve the highest possible price. Your items will appear on our website. Two weeks before the sale the catalogue is published on Marlows online website and also on the international auction search website The Saleroom, here potentional additional bidders can register to bid from any corner of the globe, bidding live asthough sitting in the auction room itself.

Saleday.

It’s arrived, your items are now placed in one of the four regular yearly auctions. They have appeared on Marlows website and the auction live bidding platform The salesroom.  Potential buyers are viewing the sale, the internet connection is made. Online bidders all over the world sit in anticipation, the auctioneer sits at his rosum gavel in hand. The auction begins.

Selling by Private Treaty.

Sometimes we are approached by individuals, families and institutions who seek a completely confidential disposal or require funds more swiftly than a scheduled public auction can deliver.
Marlows have experience in these confidential sales, usually for higher value items and can arrange, to the  delight of both the seller and the buyer a private treaty service.

Marlows are very fortunate to have a large and varied number of clients who are constantly seeking fine material in most spheres of medals and military antiques.

If you feel this method of sale mght be more suitable for you, please contact Kevin King
